Need help getting your pet to an emergency vet? Ask Pawsenger about a pet taxi from Accrington, Blackburn, Burnley, Rossendale or the Ribble Valley to the practice your vet advises.
Transport only. Availability must be confirmed. Pawsenger does not provide veterinary treatment or a clinical animal ambulance. We cannot promise an immediate vehicle or 24-hour transport availability.
Travelling within six hours? Please call about transport; WhatsApp is also available for enquiries. Online bookings require at least six hours’ notice. Sending a message does not reserve a vehicle. If we cannot confirm a suitable journey promptly, contact your vet about alternatives.
Arrange an urgent pet taxi in three steps
Call the vet first. Confirm they can receive your pet, the correct branch and entrance, and whether ordinary pet transport is suitable.
Give us the journey details. Share your full pickup address and postcode, callback number, the agreed vet destination, pet type and size, carrier or crate details, accompanying people and any handling or access needs.
Wait for an explicit transport confirmation. We will need to agree vehicle suitability, collection time and fare. Keep following the vet’s advice; do not wait for us if that would delay the care they recommend.
Emergency vets in Bury, on the A59 and in Manchester
These are independent veterinary providers. Pawsenger is not affiliated with them, and this list is not a clinical recommendation. Your vet should advise which practice is suitable. Call the practice before travelling to check its current arrangements and that it can receive your pet.

Published emergency cover
24 hours a day, every day, including weekends and bank holidays. Armac asks owners to call ahead for advice before attending.
Travel detail: this is The Rock in Bury town centre. Use the full address rather than a different Armac branch. Armac lists short-term parking at the front; ask reception about its permit arrangements.
Myerscough House, Longsight Road, Clayton le Dale, Blackburn, BB2 7JA.
Daytime practice

Out-of-hours service at the same site
Vets Now Preston publishes Monday–Friday 7pm–8am the next day; Saturday noon–8am Sunday; Sunday 8am–8am Monday. It also provides bank-holiday cover: call to confirm holiday hours.
Travel detail: despite the name “Preston”, this emergency clinic is at Clayton le Dale on the A59, near Blackburn, not in Preston city centre. Confirm the receiving service and entrance before setting off. Daytime and out-of-hours opening arrangements are different.
Travel detail: the hospital is in Whitefield, not Manchester city centre and not Armac’s Bury address. Use postcode M45 6TQ and confirm the arrival instructions with the hospital. Its website lists parking and disabled access.
Give your actual property address, any access instructions and the destination agreed with the vet. Route and journey time depend on the pickup, traffic and road conditions; no fixed arrival time is promised. The closest clinic is not necessarily the one your vet will advise.
Before your vehicle arrives
Ask the vet how your pet should be moved and whether any specialist transport is needed. Describe mobility, handling and carrier requirements to Pawsenger before confirming. Have the clinic’s contact details and any paperwork it requests to hand, but do not delay the care it advises while packing.
Confirm the transport fare and any agreed waiting or return arrangements with us. Veterinary consultation and treatment fees are separate and payable to the practice. A collection home after treatment is a separate arrangement, subject to availability.
Emergency-vet transport questions
Can I book an urgent vet journey online?
Online bookings require at least six hours’ notice. For a sooner journey, call Pawsenger or send a WhatsApp enquiry. A message is not a confirmed booking: we must confirm a suitable vehicle, collection time and fare.
Is Pawsenger a vet or animal ambulance?
No. Pawsenger provides pet transport, not veterinary advice, treatment or a clinical ambulance service. Speak to a vet immediately about an unwell or injured pet and follow their advice about whether and how to travel.
Are vehicles available immediately or all night?
Immediate collection and round-the-clock vehicle availability are not guaranteed. The veterinary opening hours below describe the clinics, not Pawsenger’s availability. If we cannot confirm transport promptly, tell the vet and arrange an alternative; do not wait for a WhatsApp reply before seeking veterinary advice.
Can I travel with my pet and arrange a return?
Tell us how many people will accompany the pet and describe the carrier, crate and any access needs. A return or discharge collection must be agreed separately when the vet can confirm the timing.
Ask about transport
Once you have spoken to a vet, call Pawsenger with your pickup postcode and agreed destination. We will confirm whether we can help with the journey.
